Gvir Me Shaar Hagai At Anacan- Israeli import Gvir - head study

"Gvir" is a very special Canaan. I imported him from Israel to the USA when he was only 6 months old and over time he sired 5 litters there. When I came to live in England "Gvir" stayed with a friend in Massachusetts for the better part of a year until I was able to bring him over. He then had to spend 6 months in quarantine, which almost did him in both mentally and physically. I was so upset with his condition that I actually contemplated having him euthanised. It took almost three years for Gvir to fully recover from his ordeal but, despite having to have a couple of teeth extracted after cracking them on a bone, he is probably now in his best conditon ever.

"Gvir" has always been a loving and playful dog. Though he has not had the chance to distinguish himself in the showring (the breed wasn't recognised in the US until after his arrival in England) his offspring and grandchildren certainly have. The first AKC champion, AKC CH Cherrysh Gideon's Topaz, is his granddaughter. The world's most titled agility Canaan, U-CD Briel's Isabel P Tiger Pooh, CD,AAD, OAC,OJC,OGC,OA,OAJ is his daughter. The first Bermudian champion and multi-group placer, Bda CH Anacan Cause To Celebrate, and the 1999 Pedigree/Dog World Top Canaan in the UK, Anacan Ziggy, are littermates and "Gvir's" sons. And the soon-to-be Finnish champion (waiting to turn two years of age) Anacan Diplomat at Kirifix is also a grandson.

"Gvir" is a delight to live with and a credit to his breed. We love him dearly and as he is only 7 years old, should have him around to enjoy for a long while to come.
